Lisburn band extends open-night invitation
A spokesperson said: “The Band particularly enjoyed their attendance at the annual RBP demonstration in Scarva, and also performed at the Lisburn City Council concert at the Bandstand in Wallace Park during the Summer.”
At the band’s recent annual general meeting officers elected for the coming year were C.Keery, chairman; C.Falconer, vice-chairman; S.Keenan, secretary (48 Hill Street Lisburn BT28 1YE); I.McAllister, assistant-secretary; A.Toole, treasurer; G.Hayes, assistant-treasurer; T.Coburn, committee foreman; R.Geddis, band captain; J.Wright, assistant band captain; A.Toole, music librarian.

Hide AdUnder conductor, Gary Shields, the band will compete at the annual indoor contest in Carrick Town Hall tomorrow (Saturday) and then proceed to a winter tuition programme.
On Wednesday (October 15) the band will hold an open night in Leslie Memorial Hall, Broomhedge, starting at 7.30pm.
This will offer the opportunity for young and old alike to go along and try an instrument under the guidance of experienced band members. The band will have all its instruments available and information will be available on the history of the band as well as its vision for the future.
“The night will be ideal for prospective new members and any young musicians who would like to be involved with a top melody flute band,” the spokesperson said.
“Everyone will be made most welcome and light refreshments will be available.
“No booking is required so just turn up on the night.”
