Larne Council’s roadside shrine safety fears
In some areas, more permanent memorials, including headstones, have been erected at the side of often busy roads, giving rise to saffety issues.
Ald Roy Beggs highlighted the increasing number of roadside tributes locally at a recent meeting of Larne Borough Council.

Hide AdCllr John Mathews proposed, Cllr Mark McKinty seconded and the council supported a resolution that the issue should be referred to the Northern Ireland Local Government Association (NILGA) for “consideration to this expanding problem”.
