It promises to be a show to remember with the renowned Clydesdale competition, the famous pet show along with several acts including a hula-hoop dancer and the poteen makers.

Chairman of the Garvagh Clydesdale and Vintage Vehicle Club, Robert Murray said, “ Around this time each year members of the Garvagh Clydesdale and Vintage Vehicle Club are extremely busy as the annual show final preparations take place.

“This promises to be a fantastic show and will be a great day out for all of the family.

“The Garvagh Pipe Band, under the direction of Pipe Major James Paul, will get the show underway.

“Then there is a hula-hoop dancer and the poteen makers who will be asking for some audience participation along with the ever-popular pet show which all takes place in the arena.

“At the rear of the field there is the Clydesdale horse competition.

“We have many more Clydesdale horses here than at Balmoral Show and the competition is extremely fierce. The winning dray on the day leads the parade of the town in the afternoon so it’s game on over there with several reputations at stake!”

The show will have amusements along with many vintage vehicles, cars, commercials, tractors, motorcycles, and steam engines. The arts and crafts can be found in the marquee with a host of trade stands.

“In addition to all the hard work that goes on behind the scenes local businesses have been exceedingly generous with sponsorship, thank you in advance.

“We are delighted to have RiverRidge Recycling from the Craigmore Road just outside the town, as our main sponsor. They are a great supporter of the Show. Coleraine Borough Council are also sponsoring the event.

“The sponsorship from RiverRidge Recycling has allowed us to further develop theshow and bring new and exciting entertainers,” continued Club Chairman, Robert Murray.

The Orange field on the Coleraine Road at the north end of the village is the venue for the Garvagh Show.

“The Club wishes to thank Garvagh District for the use of their facilities.

“The Garvagh Show promises to be a great day out for all so make a date in your diary, Saturday, September 7, for a show not to be missed!” concluded Mr Murray.
