Housing Executive investing over £1m in Ballymoney rural homes

Three hundred and eighty six Housing Executive tenants across the rural areas of Ballymoney Borough are to have external maintenance work carried out at their homes, in a recently started £1.0million contract.

The properties in the scheme are in a number of locations across the Borough, including Rasharkin, Dervock , Stranocum, Killyrammer and Clintyfinnan.

Commenting on this significant rural investment, Mairead Myles Davey, Ballymoney District Manager said: “This is a major boost for residents living in these rural parts of our Ballymoney District. The work involves servicing or replacing windows and external doors, repairs to roofs, external woodwork, paths and fencing, as well as repainting.

“As a responsible landlord, the Housing Executive aims to maintain tenants’ homes on a cyclical basis, to protect and preserve the external elements of our properties. Good housing also makes an important contribution to supporting and sustaining communities, a key strand of the Housing Executive’s rural policy. This work in Ballymoney demonstrates our commitment to this goal.

“The scheme is being carried out by Dixons Contractors, our partners for this type of work, and their representatives will be liaising with residents and the Housing Executive during the course of the contract to ensure that the work achieves the high standards set and expected.”
