Food success recognised

FOUR local businesses have received gold stars in the UK's Great Taste Awards.

Avondale Foods, Kestrel Foods, Armagh Cider and the Yellow Door Deli all received the awards as the Mayor of Craigavon, Alderman Stephen Moutray, hosted them at the civic centre to celebrate their success..

The awards – organised annually by the Guild of Fine Food - are open to both large and small companies and are based on quality, taste and innovation.

“The local food industry in Craigavon is now one of our biggest and most successful manufacturing sectors” commented the Mayor, “ I am delighted to host these four companies in recognition of their outstanding quality of produce on offer. My congratulations to them all."

The judging took place in July with up to 5,000 products from almost 5,000 companies in the UK, Republic of Ireland and other parts of Europe.
