Family fun night in store for ‘Friends’ at House of Vic-Ryn

THOSE seeking a family night out in aid of a good cause should mark Friday August 19 into their diaries.

Lisburn’s House of Vic-Ryn is hosting a charity family fun night in its car park on Moira Road, from 5.30pm. There are plenty of activities for all the family to enjoy from a BBQ, music, bouncy castle, penalty kick, classic cars and vintage tractors, stalls to browse, face-painting, plus lots more in store.

The evening is in aid of Friends of the Cancer Centre, the company’s nominated charity for this year, and for which they’ve already run a number of successful fundraising events this year.

Colleen Shaw, Director of Friends of the Cancer Centre says; “The staff and management of the House of Vic-Ryn Trust have been championing the fundraising events which have already done a fantastic job of raising over £30,000 so far for Friends of the Cancer centre and we’re all hoping that we’ll get a dry and sunny night on the 19th to raise some more. The House of Vic-Ryn is an amazing body of people to work with and they have generously matched the funds raised from previous events each time.”

Friends of the Cancer Centre works alongside the medical staff at Northern Ireland’s Regional Centre of Excellence, the Cancer Centre based at the Belfast City Hospital. ‘Friends’ support patients and their families by enhancing the quality of care they receive, contributing to the treatment of cancer within Northern Ireland.  Money donated improves patient comforts and care, purchases medical equipment to provide cutting edge technology and supports the staff to achieve excellence by providing funds for medical research.
