Event to raise VC statue funds

The 12th Royal Irish Rifles Memorial Association will be holding a fund-raising event on Saturday, October 31 in the Services Club Ballymena from 11 to 4pm.

There will be an number of exhibitors displaying collections of World War 1 memorabilia. At 2pm Doctor David Hume (Director of Services Grand Lodge of Ireland) will deliver a presentation on the history of the Orange Order members who have served in the military over the centuries.

There will also be traditional music from local singer Colin Patton. Exhibitors will also be available to give approximate valuations of World War 1 artefacts. Entry fee is £2.50 and tea and coffee will be served. All monies raised will be donated to the Robert Quigg VC Sculpture Fund.
