He has decided to raise money for the Northern Ireland Air Ambulance service. Evan greatly appreciates any donations towards this service but mostly the way support will encourage and push him to the finish in what will be his longest cycle to date.

Evan explained: “I am wanting to raise money for the Northern Ireland Air Ambulance service - a vital service that needs support to keep it in the air.

“I’m into cycling and motor bikes. This is why I have chosen this charity as it means a lot to the sport I love.”

AANI works in partnership with the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service and the health trusts which provide the medical teams on board its helicopter. It is a doctor-led service so its value is in getting hospital ER-level treatment to trauma casualties on site in minutes, as well as slashing the travel time for the transfer of casualties to hospital.

So far, Evan has raised £170 and his giving page can be found with this link: https://mydonate.bt.com/fundraisers/evanrodgers1
