Entries invited for annual Lagan Valley art contest

TO celebrate the beauty of the Lagan Valley Regional Park, the Laganscape project is launching its 2011 annual art competition and is asking local people to enter artwork depicting their interpretation of the Lagan Valley Regional Park.

The competition aims to get individuals to think creatively about the great outdoors and create a piece of art that represents ‘your’ Lagan Valley.

Some suggested topics are the scenery (the river, woodlands, meadows and parks), the amazing wildlife (birds, mammals, fish, minibeasts, trees and flowers), historic features like the Giants Ring, the Norman Motte at Belvoir, Castle Gardens or the Lock Keeper’s Cottage and ecreational activities such as canoeing, cycling, adventure sports or horse riding.
