Dunmurry High pupils visit Coca Cola

PUPILS from Dunmurry High School’s Homework Club were recently treated to an exciting and informative visitor experience at the Coca Cola factory, Knockmore Hill, Lisburn.

The visit began in the Coca Cola theatre with a cinema-style presentation about the history of the world-famous company; pupils were even treated to some complimentary refreshments. The students were then taken on a guided tour of the factory which allowed them to see the various stages of production which take place at the Knockmore Hill site.

Next, it was time for a little bit of recreation in Coca Cola’s very own interactive zone where pupils had the opportunity to engage in various games and activities including air hockey, ten pin bowling and giant Connect 4. The morning concluded with a game of ‘Who wants to be a millionaire?’ with the pupils being tested on the knowledge they had acquired during their visit and a few new millionaires were created.

Pupils were really enthusiastic about their visit. Jonathan Hamill, a year 10 pupil at DHS, commented: “This was an excellent experience for us all. I particularly enjoyed finding out all about the secrecy that surrounds the ingredients that go into Coca Cola and the lengths to which the company goes to protect this special recipe. It was brilliant.”
