Drumahoe traffic monitoring on busystretch is welcome

She said the monitoring on the Fincairn Road near the Faughan Crescent housing development followed resurfacing work over recent days.

Councillor McClintock said: “I’ve been in contact with the Derpartment of Regional Development (DRD) regarding the speed of traffic approaching this area from the Copperthorpe direction.”

She expressed concern both about the speed of cars travelling in the direction of the Fincairn and Drumahoe Road junction and the difficulties drivers have negotiating local junctions.

“Traffic approaching the village comes over a hump in the road and this makes it extremely difficult for cars turning right onto the Hazelbank Road.”
