Downshire celebrates success at A-Level

Students at Downshire School were celebrating this morning after another impressive set of AS and A-Level results.

Pupils recorded a 100% A* - E pass rate again this year, with top performing students including Lauren Glass (A, A, B), Alex Montgomery (A, A,B), Rebecca Noble (A*, A, B) and Adam Stuart (A*, A, B).

Subjects which registered 100% A* - C grades were Art and Design, Business Studies and Sports Studies, with all students achieving Level 3 in Key Skills, an enrichment subject.

All students who applied for university have been placed in courses of their choice.

At AS Level, many students have achieved three top grades, including Harry Butler (A, A, B) and Katie McCullough (A, B, B).

Principal Mrs Jacqueline Stewart said it was "very rewarding" that the final set of A-Level results from Downshire School are so positive, giving the students a strong platform from which to launch the next stage of their educational journey.

She extended her thanks to staff and parents for all of their hard work and support over the years and noted that the strong link between home and school has resulted in real success for students.
