A second video has emerged of a child driving a lorry on the M1- this time showing a young girl behind the wheel.

It follows a video which emerged last week which appeared to show a young boy driving a lorry on the motorway near Dungannon.

In the latest video it’s not clear on which stretch of motorway it was taken but sources have suggested it is Dungannon again and a different vehicle.

It shows the young girl at the wheel with an adult sitting behind her and a second young girl standing just behind the driver’s seat.

First Minister Arlene Foster has condemned the footage as “crazy”.

Mrs Foster said: “Both these crazy videos have been in my constituency.

“This is reckless for the people in the HGVs and other road users.

“A vehicle like this veering out of control into traffic is unthinkable.”

Following the first video, also obtained by this newspaper, police arrested a 37-year-old man in Cookstown on suspicion of aiding and abetting driving while disqualified due to age.

He was also questioned on suspicion of cruelty to children and was later released on bail.

Speaking to the Local Democracy Reporting Service after he became aware of the second video, DUP councillor Clement Cuthbertson condemned the “careless and reckless” behaviour of those involved.

“I am totally appalled to see a second incident of a child driving a HGV lorry,” said Cllr Cuthbertson.

“This careless and reckless behaviour by the parent or owner of the lorry is unacceptable.

“Anyone with any information should pass it to the police immediately before we witness a tragedy on our roads.”

Commenting on the second video a spokesperson for the PSNI confirmed the matter was being investigated.
