Poor teenagers more likely to take risks to benefit from funding
WELB’s Youth Service North West Division has launched the new funding programme for the provision of Winter Projects.
This funding is aimed at assisting young people aged 13-18 years old living in areas of deprivation who are at risk of becoming involved in risk-taking behaviour in the evenings and/or weekends.

The programmes should focus on improving the quality of life for young people, by helping to increase their understanding of anti-social behaviour and their health and wellbeing.
Programmes aimed at young people who are not engaged in the youth service may receive enhanced funding if this is verifiable and clearly articulated in the application. A WELB Youth Service spokesperson has outlined that “those interested in obtaining an application pack should contact their local area youth office, Derry (028) 71313555, Limavady (028) 77760930. Completed applications should be returned to your local area youth office by Friday, October 12 2012.”
