Man remanded on cannabis haul

The swoop by police officers from H District’s Tactical Crime Unit netted a haul of cannabis with an estimated street value of £16,500 and a large quantity of drugs related paraphernalia.

A man arrested with her appeared before a District Judge yesterday (Monday) charged with five separate offences including cultivating cannabis, dishonestly using electricity as well as a number of possession offences.

The case against Gerard Vincent Rice, with an address at Greenmount Park, was adjourned and the defendant remanded on bail to North Antrim Magistrates’ Court, Coleraine, on December 19. A 30-year-old woman, also arrested by police has been released on bail pending further enquiries.
