Assault
Detectives at Strand Road are appealing for information after a report of an assault in the Ebrington Street area of Londonderry in the early hours of Saturday, December 22.
At around 2.10 am, it was reported that three men entered a house and assaulted a male occupant with hammers and bats. It is believed the man sustained serious head and facial injuries. He was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment to his injuries which aren’t believed to be life threatening.
A short time later police arrested two males aged 26 and 41 years. They are currently assisting police with their enquiries. A motive for the attack has yet to be established and all lines of enquiry will be investigated.
