Councillors and public go for a spin at e-car event
The pollution-beating eco vehicles were supplied by Shelbourne Motors and featured a Renault Zoe, a Nissan Leaf and a Renault Kangoo Van. Members of the public, council employees and Elected Members were offered the opportunity to test drive these non-gas guzzling vehicles.
Catherine Dynes from Banbridge District Council’s Technical Services department stated: “Banbridge District Council were delighted to host the event and showcase a variety of E-Cars. As a society we are becoming more aware of our carbon footprint, and our responsibility to take care of the environment. E-Cars have no tail-pipe CO2 emissions which is an obvious advantage for the environment.”
There are five e-car charging points including Townsend Street Car Park, Downshire Place, The Outlet Shopping Centre and the Halfway Road in Banbridge and Gallows Street in Dromore.
