Council approves funding applications
The council has approved funding of £3,265 for Doagh Cultural Society Limited to allow it to move ahead with plans for a community garden and outdoor leisure area at the local community hall.
The money will be made available to the society if its application to Biffa for the bulk of the funding for the project proves successful.
Meanwhile, Ballyclare Family Focus has been awarded £1,687 by Newtownabbey Borough Council as a ‘turnstile premises grant’ under its Community Development Grant Aid Programme.
Ballyclare Widows Group was awarded £563 for a community outreach programme, while Ballyclare Initiatives Group received a £300 seeding grant under the same programme.
