Cookstown couple hit with £12,000 planning fine over fast food outlet

A Cookstown couple have been fined £12,000 for planning offence involving a fast food outlet.

Christopher Quinn and Michelle Quinn of Westbury Drive, Cookstown, were each fined £6,000 plus court costs at Dungannon Magistrates’ Court today.

The couple was found guilty for non compliance with a DOE Planning Enforcement Notice and each was also made to pay £324.26 in legal fees and £10 in court costs.

The Enforcement Notice required the appellants to cease the use of land at 53 Drum Road, Cookstown as a fast food outlet and remove all equipment associated with that use.
