College celebrates first class students
Six students studying the BA (hons) Business Management degree, which is accredited by Liverpool John Moores University, were awarded First Class Honours, three of whom studied on a part-time basis.
Sian Devon, Ashleigh Philpott, Robert Lutton, Dearbhla O’Reilly, Gary Marshall and Heather Montgomery all got the highest possible result.

Hide AdFirst Class student Ashleigh Philpott, who studied the BA (Hons) Business Management course at the College’s Lisburn campus, said: “I am absolutely delighted. I have worked really hard throughout the year and received fantastic support from my tutors.
“I chose to study at SERC after attending an open evening. I liked its state of the art facilities and the tutors were very friendly. I’m glad I decided to go for it. It is the best decision I have ever made. I am really excited about my future career.”
Dr Michael Malone, SERC Director of Curriculum and Information Services said: “This level of success is a great testament to the high level of teaching and learning that goes on within the College and further enhances our ‘culture of excellence’.
“SERC provides students with the opportunity to receive a first class education locally and these outstanding results illustrate how hard our students and staff have worked this year. I would like to wish all of our 2012 graduates well as they now progress to careers, locally and nationally, or to further study.”

Hide AdBusiness Studies Associate lecturer Philip Turner said; “This has been SERC’s best performance to date and all students are to be congratulated. They all worked extremely hard throughout the year and I am delighted that all their hard work has paid off.”
