Children receive awards from Summer Swim School

LOCAL swimming specialist Adrienne Bell has held an awards ceremony for children who have participated in her recent Summer Swim School.

According to Dr Miriam Stoppard, as a nation, we are poor swimmers. In the UK one in five adults can’t swim and 400 people drown each year. A recent report by the Amateur Swimming Association showed that one in three children can’t swim 25 yards by the time they leave primary school.

The National Curriculum stipulates that children should be able to pass the 25m test by the time they reach the age of 11. However, four out of ten schools don’t even offer swimming lessons to pupils.

Adrienne says she believes in quality rather than quantity and can have you or your child swimming within one week so you can say “goodbye” to those endless lessons and long and often protracted waiting lists. And Adrienne teaches in a local private swimming pool so you can be assured of the individual attention needed to become a confident swimmer.

She has limited availability for last two sessions of the Summer Swim School, and is now taking bookings for September.
