Cheque to be presented at service

Ballymore Parish Church is holding its annual charity carol service on Sunday, December 4, with a special collection being taken up in memory of Tandragee woman Alison Williamson.

Alison, a mother of two and a classroom assistant at Tandragee PS, died of blood cancer in May, aged 31.

In October, Barry along with a group of family and friends, climbed the four highest peaks in the UK in 48 hours.

Money raised from this and other events - a total of more than £44,000 - will be presented to representatives of the Leukaemia and Lymphona NI charity at the service

The concert will feature Poyntzpass Silver Band, Tandragee Primary School Choir and Ballymore Parish Choir and will start at 7pm.

Canon Shane Forster, rector of Ballymore, said the carol service was a fitting way to remember Alison as Christmas was her favourite time of year.
