Celebrating success at St John’s Primary

Pupils were commended for their “dedication to making a difference to all aspects of school life” during St John’s Primary School’s annual prizegiving last week.

The prize giving highlighted the children’s “tremendous work” and how it developed the school vision statement: “Learning and developing together as a community.”

Pupils enjoyed celebrating their success in raising standards throughout the year.

There were several guest speakers present on the day to present the individual awards, including Terry Murphy, head of raising standards at CCMS.

Mr Murphy spoke of the importance of child-centred education and achieving potential.

Awards included: Sports Awards; Carnlough Community Nursery Award; Foundation Stage Award; Key Stage One Award; Key Stage Two Award; PSTT Award;Leadership Award; Mayor’s Plaque; Accelerated Reading Award; Environmental Award; Music Award; Instrumental Award; St. John’s School Council Award;

AES Contribution To School Life; CCA Community Spirit Award; Learning and Developing Award; Sister Mary Mc Ateer Award for Fundraising.
