CC&G Council back Risk Management Strategy

At a meeting of the Audit committee last week, members voted in favour of the Strategy that provides a framework to allow the Council to improve upon the high quality of services being provided.

Council Officer Stephen McMaw, who devised the policy, told those present that ‘everyone had a part to play’ in risk assessment.

The Strategy forms part of the Council’s internal control and corporate governance framework.

Members were informed that the Strategy would improve decision making amongst staff at all levels, and safeguard the Council’s assets - people, finance, property and information.

Mr McMaw added that the aim was ‘to create an environment where all staff assume responsibility for risk management’.
