Carrickfergus gearing up for Giro d’Italia
A presentation is being made this afternoon (Friday) at the Town Hall to provide community organisations and business owners with information about the international event.
This year’s Giro, one of the world’s biggest cycle races, will start in Belfast on May 9. And the second day of the event will see more than 200 top cyclists racing a 218km route, which will take in Carrickfergus.

Hide AdEarlier this week, a local delegation, including the Deputy Mayor, Councillor John Stewart, attended The ‘Get Ready for the Giro’ roadshow at Larne Town Hall.
Councillor Stewart said: “We are looking forward to welcoming the riders and their entourages to our historic borough and the impressive sight of Carrickfergus Castle will provide a fantastic backdrop.”
