Cllr Andrew Wilson.

In a statement, Cllr. Andrew Wilson said: “Those responsible for the attempted armed robbery of a shop in Bridewell Drive on Saturday will be rightly condemned by the community.

“Their actions will have affected staff and shoppers in the area and would have been a traumatic experience.

“It is heartening to hear that the customers in the shop at the time challenged the robbers actions which resulted in the assailant leaving empty- handed.”
