Calls for action on potholes

DUP Alderman, John Finlay, has called on Transport NI's Northern Division to take urgent action to repair potholes.

Alderman Finlay said: “Over the course of the winter, our roads have fallen into disrepair, and one the most common problems is potholes. These come in all shapes and sizes, but cause danger to road users, and I have also spoken to constituents whose vehicles have been damaged. Fenton park in Cloughmills and Ballycregagh Road and Main Street in Clough are just a few of the areas affected, but I am being made aware of new ones every day. It is my understanding that Transport NI’s Northern Division received £1m for road maintenance, but I see little evidence of any improvements. In the interests of road safety, it is vital that pothole repair is priority”.
