Call for 'triple jobber' Gregory to quit posts
At a speech in the Waterfront Hall in March 2010, he said: “Our party executive last night approved an officer recommendation that will mean any of our Assembly Members elected to Westminster will give up their Assembly seats.” He also went on to announce that the double jobbers would resign during the summer recess. This was a welcome recognition that the people of Northern Ireland deserve 100% from every elected job.
However by October 2010, seven months later, Gregory Campbell, East Londonderry, still remains as an MP, an MLA and a Derry City councillor.

Hide AdHe is one of the very last triple jobbers left in politics in Northern Ireland. However, with rising unemployment, problems with sectarianism and untapped tourism potential, East Londonderry needs a full time MP more than ever.
I believe in positive politics, so I have no intention of attacking Gregory. However I do think it is important that someone, somewhere holds our politicians to account. I also believe it is vital that politicans keep their promises.
Of course, perhaps I need to be more patient, as Gregory may already have his resignation letters in the post.
But really, how long does it take to write “Please accept my resignation as an MLA and a councillor”?
There Gregory, I have done it for you.
