Bleary Pipe is congratulated on its All-Ireland success

Local MLA Sydney Anderson, has congratulated Bleary and District Pipe Band on their All-Ireland success.

At the weekend, Bleary and District Pipe Band were crowned All-Ireland champions at Grade Two level at the All-Ireland Pipe Band Championships which took place at Omagh Rugby Grounds.

Mr Anderson MLA, on congratulating the band said, “I want to take this opportunity to pass on my sincerest congratulations to Bleary and District Pipe Band, ,after their recent success in the All-Ireland Championships which took place at the weekend.

“Bleary and District have enjoyed many major successes over the last number of years and as such this latest victory highlights yet again the superb standard of the band itself.

“Being crowned All-Ireland champions is a remarkable achievement and all involved with the band deserve credit for making this latest victory possible. “In particular, congratulations to Pipe Major Nigel Davidson and Drum Sergeant David Brown for the exemplary way in which they lead the band and hopefully it will not be too long before the band is competing in Grade One.”

Mr Anderson continued by stating, “Bleary and District are great ambassadors for the Craigavon area and Northern Ireland as a whole.

“They have been very successful in demonstrating the high standard of musical ability that exists in the Upper Bann constituency.

“The band should be very pleased with what they have achieved and I want to wish them every success in future competitions.”
