Arson attack

Detectives in Londonderry are appealing for information following an arson attack at a house in the Cuthbert Street area in the early hours of Saturday, July 7.

At around 4.50am it was reported that a wheelie bin had been pushed against the front door of a house and set alight. Rubbish had been placed at the back door of the property and set alight also. The female occupant of the house was alerted to the fire by a smoke alarm and was able to leave the property uninjured through the back door. The front door of the house was badly damaged with further smoke damage to the interior of the house. The fire at the back door failed to ignite fully.

Police would ask anyone with any information about this incident to contact them in CID at Strand Road.
