Antrim Coast Road cubes to curb landslides
The provision of concrete cubes along the side of the carriageway is being undertaken in an effort to prevent landslides.
Welcoming the initiative, Coast Road councillor James McKeown said: “There have been several landslides this winter on the stretch of road between the two villages and I have to commend Roads Service for taking action so quickly to try and remedy it.”

“A survey has been carried out and tests have been done on that section of the Coast Road because there are real concerns that at some stage there will be quite a large landslide there.”
Road closures and the fear of tragedy prompted Roads Service to swathe large sections of the headland between Carnlough and Garron Point in wire netting to retain soil.
