Annual flower show is set to be in full bloom

Larne Borough Council is pleased to welcome exhibitors to the 58th annual flower show, on Saturday, August 20 at First Larne Presbyterian Church Hall.

The show, gives local gardeners and growers the opportunity to showcase the fruits of their labour.

There are over 90 categories for exhibitors to enter with special children’s section encouraging children up to 15 years old to try out their artistic talents.

The flower arrangement section tests the imagination and creativity of the Borough’s top floral arrangers while the novice section allows amateur arrangers to show what they can accomplish.

This year will be more creative than ever, as entrants impress the judges with their amazing mouth-watering cakes and jams in the Home industry section, as well as vegetables galore, pot plants and beautiful cut flowers.

The Larne Borough Council flower show offers the opportunity for green-fingered enthusiasts to demonstrate their skill and knowledge while being a colourful spectacle for everyone to enjoy.

Entries for the flower show are free provided they are submitted by 4pm on Thursday, August 18.

Exhibits may be placed on Friday evening 6pm-9.00pm or Saturday 8.30am-10.45am. Doors open to the public at 2pm on Saturday for an opportunity to view the array of exhibits and refreshments which will be on sale. Prize-giving will take place at 3pm.

Don’t miss your opportunity to take part in the show - application forms and programmes are available at Larne Tourist Information Centre, Larne Borough Council offices, Smiley Buildings, Victoria Road, Larne and Parks Section at Unit 8 Curran Business Park, Portland Road, Larne.

Postal applications will be accepted up until Thursday, August 18, prior to the show. The schedule and forms are also available to download from www.larne.gov.uk or email [email protected].
