More than 400 Covid penalty notices issued by PSNI in Mid Ulster

Police in Mid Ulster have now handed out a total of 413 penalty notices in the district since the pandemic started last March.

Up until midnight on Monday, they had issued 141 COV 4 penalty notices with fines starting at £200.

According to the latest PSNI statistics, a total of 67 notices have been handed to commercial premises such as licensed premises, or for restriction of gatherings in private dwellings.

Five COV 5 notices, which carry fines starting at £1,000 up to £10,000, were issued to businesses or premises found to have breach government restrictions.

Meanwhile, the Covid-19 vaccine is currently being rolled out to both vaccine centres and GP practices across the district.

Those eligible for the jab can attend vaccination clinics at Mid Ulster Sports Arena in Cookstown or Meadowbank Sports Arena, Magherafelt.
