Digital technology experts WheelWorks are offering young women aged 16-24 in Carrickfergus who are currently not in employment, training or education the chance to enhance their digital skills.

WheelWorks i-Connect is a new eight week project which enables young women in the area to learn a range of digital media skills, including photo editing, film-making, special effects and basic computer coding.

Maurice McLaughlin, I Connect Coordinator, from WheelWorks, explained: “Today’s world is all about being connected – especially when it comes to digital technology.

“i-Connect is an amazing opportunity to get connected, make new friends, gain a qualification, enhance career skills and have fun too.”

“In addition to developing their digital skills, course participants will also put together a personalised digital portfolio which will tell prospective employers or colleges all about themselves and what they have to offer.”
