Seaside tractor run in fancy dress

It may be a shivery time of the year but that doesn’t deter dozens of brave-hearted souls to take part in the annual Christmas tractor run in Ballintoy.

This year’s event will take place on Saturday, December 27 and, as usual, those participating are encouraged to come in fancy dress.

The meeting place is Mount Druid Rectory and the Parish hall will also be open. The run will leave the Rectory at 1130 a.m. and will see the convoy taking a route around the village where people can show their support with donations.

After the run, participants are invited to the parish hall where refreshments will be served.

In addition to tractors, 4x4s and Land Rovers are also welcome.

The aim is to raise funds for the church and anyone wishing to secure sponsorship should contact Leslie Heaney on 028 207 32170.

It has been a busy time of the year for the joint parishes of Ballintoy and Dunseverick with a host of activities for the young and old including carol singing, Christmas parties and other events for the Mount Druid Parent and Toddler Group, the Youth Club, Mother’s Union and the Sunday Schools.
