Road Safety Campaign - Social Media Takeover

The Police Service of Northern Ireland is committed to promoting road safety to everyone who uses the highways and byways from pedestrians and cyclists to motorists and everyone in-between.

Over the next three Bank Holiday Mondays we are asking anyone who has an interest in keeping our roads safe to help us promote important safety messages through our Social Media Takeover.

Speaking about this new initiative, local Road Safety Education Officer Constable Syd Henry said: “We use a variety of methods to promote road safety awareness in our District from workshops to crash demonstrations. Recognising that many people use social media platforms as a source of information, especially when they are on the go, we are using our Twitter and Facebook sites to encourage the sharing of road safety messages. And we need your help!

“If you are already a follower of the PSNI Facebook or Twitter accounts then all you need to do is like, share and retweet! For those of you who haven’t signed up, do it now! We want to reach as many people as possible over those three key dates and by showing your support for this campaign you are visibly demonstrating your personal commitment to making our roads safer for everyone.”

Road Safety messages will appear on all of the PSNI’s Facebook and Twitter accounts on April 21, May 5, and May 26. There will be a different message for each day and for each social media platform.
