Nicola lands leading role

NICOLA O’Hara has landed the leading role in MADS forthcoming production of A Peace Of History.

Nicola (22) from Carrigart Manor in Craigavon will play Heather Taylor in the play which will be performed three times at St Anthony’s Centre.

Nicola, who is a former pupil of Lismore Comprehensive, has a degree in drama from Queens University.

Nicola, who is also a qualified dance teacher, works for Fiona’s Academy of Drama and Dance and BEAM creative connections and has been a member of MADS for almost nine years.

Show producer Kieran Corr said: “Nicola is a very talented singer, dancer and actor. Her acting skills really come to the fore in this production.”

Nicola who has performed as ‘Rizzo’ in ‘Grease’, ‘Cosette’ in ‘Les Miserables School Edition’, ‘Maria’ in ‘West Side Story’, ‘Lorraine’ in ‘Boogie Nights’, ‘Miss Brannigan’ in ‘Back To The 80’s’ and ‘Linda’ in Blood Brothers.

Mr Corr said Nicola’s CV speaks for itself and under the direction of Raymond Murray he had every confidence that this show would be another success for MADS.

Nicola will be joined on stage by a very experienced cast which includes Brendan Magee, Gerry Heaney, Emma Watson, Geraldine Owens, Laura Robinson, Michael McAleenan, Eimear O’Neill, Aaron Murphy.

Mr Corr said: “I would also like to thank Raymond Murray for letting the drama society perform this award winning play which is a very funny and entertaining.”

A Peace of History opens on Friday, April 1 at 7.30pm and continues on Saturday, April 2 at 8.45pm and closes on Sunday, April 3 at 7.30pm. Tickets can be purchased from St Anthony’s Centre and Print Business Supplies in North Street.
