It’s all Live at the Paddock!

WITH roughly a month to go to the NW 200, the anticipation among the acts appearing at Live at the Paddock is mounting!

Dave Taylor, who fronts Otis and the Elevators, is particularly looking forward to the week and said: “I’m a big bike fan but always have to miss the NW200 because of our work schedule but this year is all different.

“My band Otis and the Elevators are performing on the Thursday which is the NW200 Benefit night for Action Medical Research – but the Ronnie Greer Band have also asked me to join him as guest vocalist on the Friday night alongside Anthony Toner. Of course, it took me all of five seconds to make up my mind!”

Again the organisers are keen to point out that the entertainment is for the general public – the teams and riders will all be there but the programme is aimed at those who are here for Race Week.

“We know the teams’ and riders’ reputation for a party and they’ll be in every night – but please, come and join them as everyone is welcome,” they said.

The line-up of events is as follows:

This is the busiest party band on the circuit. Popular with guys because of the banter from frontman Brian Giffen and popular with the ladies because of...frontman Brian Giffen!

This band are stunning….fronted by Eurovision winner Niamh Kavanagh with three lead guitars, great vocals and all the great music by The Eagles. They also include Fleetwood Mac numbers and some other classics of the era and never fail to get an audience cheering and singing along - an encore is always demanded of them.

Think “Commitments vs The Blues Brothers”….this is a “big band” with brass section etc and featuring classics such as Soul Man, Gimme Some Lovin’ and more as well as modern standards such as Brown Eyed Girl etc…..indeed, this is a band that will attempt numbers that others dare not try. Expect a massive party atmosphere following the first ever Thursday night racing and the fact that this night benefits the NW200 chosen charity “Action Medical Research”.

FRIDAY 18th MAY

Ronnie Greer Band - with special guest singer and songwriter Anthony Toner

Ronnie is the guitarists’ guitarist! He’ll be joined on stage by local hero Anthony Toner (local signer/songwriter whose self-penned CDS enjoy frequent plays on local and network radio). An ideal night for those who enjoy watching and hearing brilliantly played music or for those for whom a good raucious bop is the order of the day.

SATURDAY 19th MAY

Rio - the NW200 Wrap Party

Rio are a Belfast based party band and ideal to wrap up a great week of NW200 2012 celebrations!
