Fun, food and fibre on menu for families
Organised by the Northern Health and Social Care Trust in conjunction with Ulster Farmers Union the demo. in Tullyglass Hotel featured celebrity chef Paula McIntyre.
The aim of the evening was to raise awareness about the importance of fibre in diet to promote good health helping to prevent bowel cancer.

Hide AdPaula cooked a range of dishes using local produce, which the audience were able to sample, and she also demonstrated how to increase the fibre content of meals by adding some tasty ingredients.
Bernie McGarry, Health Promotion and Outreach Officer from Bowel Cancer UK ended the evening on a serious note by telling the audience that bowel cancer is Northern Ireland’s second most common cancer and cancer killer but is very treatable if diagnosed early.
Bernie also highlighted key health promotion messages to help reduce the risks.
