BBC grant boost for local drama society
The drama society are delighted to announce that BBC Children in Need has awarded them a grant of £5600 over 1 year.
This grant will fund a Drama workshop summer scheme that will include acting, singing, dancing, lights, make-up, making a musical video, sound and costume making. This will help make a difference to the lives of children and young people right here in Craigavon.

Hide AdThis grant has been made possible thanks to the generosity of the public during which saw £31.1 million raised on Appeal night 2013.
Craigavon is among the top areas of deprivation and Moyraverty Arts and Drama Society are providing this Summer Scheme in order to provide the young people of this area with an opportunity to engage with other young people and to learn valuable life skills such as team work and good communication skills.
BBC Children in Need funding relies on the energy and commitment of thousands of fundraisers and supporters across the UK who donate their time and money to support the Appeal.

Hide AdAll grants go to projects working with children and young people living in the UK who may be affected by homelessness, neglect, abuse or poverty, or those who have faced challenges in their lives such as serious illness, disabilities and psychological disorder.
A spokesperson for MADS said: “This is fantastic news for the society and we would like to thank the BBC Children in Need for awarding us this grant.
“We also have to acknowledge the work of Niall Devlin and Laura Corr who made this possible.
“The Children in Need team were highly impressed with the societies Child protection policies and also the amount of leaders who have been vetted and qualified to work with children.

Hide Ad“Our Summer scheme will take place in the first two weeks of August at the Moyraverty Centre beside St Brendan’s Primary School.
“Starting on Monday, August 4 to Friday, August 9 and again on Monday, August 11 to Friday, August 15 starting at 10am to 4pm both weeks.
“Anyone aged eight to 18 and interested in taking part can contact MADS on our facebook page MADS CRAIGAVON or email [email protected] or just come along on Monday, August 4 to join.”
