O’Hagan and Porter break 40-minute barrier
Ten Barn Runners took part in the Seeley Cup 10K in Belfast last weekend.
The event, which included the NI 10K Championships, was organised by Willowfield Harriers in association with Northern Ireland Athletics, and many of the Province’s top road racers were in action.
All Barn Runners came in under the hour-mark with Jonathan O’Hagan and Neil Porter impressively coming in under the 40-minute barrier.
All but one clocked personal best times in the race and lots of support from fellow Barn Runners was given along the course route.
Results: Neil Porter (39:55), Johnny McConnell (43:20), Jonathan O’Hagan (39:38), Gary McCullough (41:18), Roisin Blue (47:49), Yvonne McIlree (48:28), Karen O’Hagan (57:05), Barbara Porter (58:40), Elaine Ditty (49:34), Diane Lowe (51:55).
Roisin Blue’s personal best was of particular note, having had a baby nine weeks ago. She was the first Barn female to cross the line.
On Sunday 17 club members, including ‘Barn Juniors’, participated in the Hazelbank five-mile and one-mile Santa Fun run, in aid of Action on Hearing loss.
