Promotion for Carrick Cricket Club

There was cause for celebration for Carrick Cricket Club in September 1990.

The team won the Lombard and Ulster Section 3 title after a five wicket win at Dunmurry.

This was their 15th win of the season and propelled the East Antrim side to league victory. As a result of their league win, they were promoted to Section 2. This would be the first time that the club would be playing in this league, and they were already looking forward to the new season. Carrick put in a dominant display against the team from South Belfast in the final game of the season. Good accurate bowling, backed up by some excellent fielding in the deep had given Carrick’s batsmen the relativley straightforward task of making just 116 runs in 50 overs.
