Carrickfergus Cricket Club 1st XI travelled to Lisburn on Saturday with both sides still seeking their first Ulster Bank Premier League win of the season. But it was the Wallace Park side who took the points with an emphatic 139-run win, leaving Carrick languishing at the foot of the table.
Lisburn 299 for 5 (D Simpson 102, D Brown 78, R Rankin 34, R Eagleson 2-64)
Carrickfergus 160 (R Eagleson 69, J Holmes 49, D Brown 3-14, D Simpson 2-27, A McKeown 2-21)
Lisburn won by 139 runs.
It was a thoroughly miserable day for Carrick, as the previously unbeaten Second XI crashed out of the Intermediate Cup at the quarter-final stage, following a heavy 8 wicket defeat by Derriaghy at Middle Road.
