Seven Carrick Rangers Under-11 players were part of the East Antrim squad at Wednesday’s Northern Ireland Primary Schools’ District Cup competition.
An 18-strong panel was split into two teams to take on other teams from Londonderry and Mid Ulster at Ballymena Showgrounds.
The East Antrim teams played 10 games, won six, drew two and lost two. One of the teams won their section while the other came second in their category.
The Carrick contingent was made up of: Luke Bennett, Sol Davison, Joel Thompson, Peter Cash, Logan Wallace, Matthew Bennett and Justin Waite.
The Rangers players now switch their attention to Saturday’s Northern Ireland Cup semi-final against Warrenpoint Town. The tie is set to be played at Lurgan Town Arena (11:45am) and the winners will face Linfield in the final.
