Carrick Rangers’ scheduled home match against Ballinamallard United (Dec 19) will now take place at Ferney Park.

The Northern Ireland Football League confirmed the change of venue in a statement to media on Monday morning.

“We don’t want to miss anymore games,” Rangers boss Gary Haveron told the Times. “It’s out of necessity more than want. We don’t want to fall any further behind in games so we appreciate Ballinamallard reversing the fixture to accommodate us.”

The fixture change means Carrick will host Whitey Anderson’s team on March 12 at the Belfast Loughshore Hotel Arena.

The Gers, who are set to take on Linfield in the semi-final of the County Antrim Shield on Tuesday night, won 3-1 at the Mallards in September.

So far this season, Carrick have had three Danske Bank Premiership games postponed due to waterlogging at their home ground.
