Injured Larne midfielder Scott Irvine has taken to Twitter to show his gratitude for the flood of well-wishes he has received.
The 30-year-old Greenisland man sustained serious head injuries when he collided with a perimeter wall in Larne’s abandoned Irish Cup tie with Carrick Rangers on January 10.
He wrote: “A massive thank you to everyone for their well wishes. It means so much to me and my family.”
Larne manager Davy McAlinden is surprised and delighted at the progress being made by the former Ballyclare Comrades player.
“I got a surprise text message from him on Saturday night and then on Sunday morning I saw that he was tweeting again,” he told the Times.
“The progress that he has made in such a very short space of time is great and again I want to thank everyone for their prayers, thoughts and good wishes during what a very testing time for everyone in the club and, most especially, Scott’s family.”
Larne host Carrick in the Irish Cup tomorrow evening (7:45 kick-off).
