Greenisland FC is aiming to form a Ladies’ Football Section, which the club says will be an important part of its academy.

The structure for this latest strand of the club, which helped produce West Brom’s Jonny Evans and Watford’s Craig Cathcart, has been under development for the past year. Now, with all the elements in place, Greenisland is ready to accept interested players who wish to develop their skills.

Girls born in the years 2005, 2006 and 2007, and interested in taking part, are asked to come along to its Glenkeen Avenue base on Sunday, September 20 from 12 to 2pm.

The club says it will provide ‘top-class coaching’ by female and male coaches, and the girls will have the use of the complete range of the facilities - including grass pitches, mini pitches, a new outdoor floodlit 3G training area, indoor mini gym and outdoor gym.
