CARRICK RANGERS: Aaron Smyth leaves Taylor's Avenue for Glentoran

Defender Aaron Smyth has followed Aaron Harmon out Carrick Rangers exit door to Glentoran after he signed a two-year deal at The Oval.

The 28-year-old right-back, who has had spells with for Cliftonville and Lisburn Distillery, was a key player in the Gary Haveron era, and was part of the treble winning squad of 2015.

He tweeted: “Delighted to have signed a deal with Glentoran and leaving Carrick with a heavy heart, [it’s a] club I grew to love and will always respect.”

Glentoran manager Alan Kernaghan told the club’s website: “Aaron is another signing who will bring hunger and professionalism to our squad. I’m confident he will play a positive part in helping us progress up the league next season.”
