Carrick charged with breach of IFA Disciplinary Code over Haveron ban

It means the club could be one step closer to being docked three points and relegated from the Danske Bank Premiership.

The Taylor’s Avenue outfit have four days to challenge the charge should they wish to do so.

Haveron was banned for three games and the club fined £100 after he was ordered from the dugout in the 4-3 win over Crusaders in March.

He served an automatic next-game suspension against Glentoran (March 26), before sitting out two further matches at home to Ballymena United (April 16) and Portadown (April 19).

However, the Irish FA had stated that after the Glentoran match the further two-game ban commenced on Monday, April 18.

It all means that Haveron could have taken his seat in the dugout for the defeat to Ballymena and wasn’t permitted to have been in the technical area during the 3-1 win at Dungannon Swifts (April 23).

Article 23.1 of the IFA’s Disciplinary Code states: ‘Any player or official who participates in a match whilst being suspended or breaches the terms of his suspension will be sanctioned with a minimum fine of £350 imposed on the club for which he is participating. Additionally, the Club will forfeit the match by the score 3-0.’

Carrick escaped relegation on the final day of the season with a dramatic 2-1 win over Ballinamallard United at the Belfast Loughshore Hotel Arena.
