Are you obsessed with the 3D animal feature on Google? Those living in lockdown have been turning their homes into virtual zoos thanks to the augmented reality feature from Google.

Vote in our poll to crown the winner of the 3D animals - is the panda the best animal to see in your living room? Or would you rather snap a selfie with a tiger, like Joe Exotic?

If you haven’t heard about the Google 3D animal feature, this is what you need to know.

What are Google 3D animals?

Last year Google launched a feature which allowed users to see 3D versions of their favourite animals in their homes and surroundings using their phone camera.

All you have to do to access these animals is google an animal of your choosing and you’ll see an option underneath the wikipedia description that says “meet a life sized [version of your animal] up close”.

You’ll see an option that says “view in 3D” - click on that and select “view in your space” to be able to see the animal in your surroundings.

There are loads of animals to choose from, but be aware that not every animal is available within this feature.

Where can I vote?

Make your opinion known with our poll, which you can vote on by clicking here.

Simply choose your favourite animal and you’ll be able to see what percentage of voters voted for each animal.

What animals are available?

As it stands, the full list of animals available has not been confirmed by Google - this is a list of all the ones people have found, but there could be more waiting to be discovered:

How do I know if my phone is AR enabled?

To access this feature from Google, you’ll need to ensure that your phone is AR enabled.

For Android users, Google requires you to have an operating system of Android 7.0, or later, originally shipped with the Google Play store already installed, and have internet access.

For iPhone users, you have to be running iOS 11.0 or later. To check if you’re up to date on your software, simply head to your settings > general and then tap software update if there’s an option.

If there is one available, click download and install.
